We very much value receiving reviews, online or via social media, but the occasional hand-written note from guests often touches our hearts. It is lovely that Duke’s Lodge has so many holiday roles to play, as this short letter reveals. (Transcript of review below.)
“Dear Simon & Bobbie,
We would just like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Dukes Lodge and it was in a lovely setting and inside was in keeping with the old traditions as it should be.
The new modern kitchen had everything you could wish for.
It was so nice to be in Earsham and I could visit the church where my Mother and Father were married also my Nan and Grandad’s graves at the church.

“Easily one of the best stays I’ve ever had in the UK. The house is amazing, from the general decor/furniture and themed rooms to the completeness and quality of the amenities.
We particularly appreciated the fact that all bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom (toilet + shower), the fact that the kitchen is very well equipped with lots of machines and all the utensils you could ever need, the fact that equipment and furniture are of high quality/spec, the large and beautifully kept garden and outdoor spaces.
The way the house comes together really well and is held together by meticulous and tasteful interior design.
We should also mention that the hosts are amazingly helpful and responsive and went out of their way to make sure we had the best stay possible. Overall, whichever way we look at it, we simply cannot fault the Duke’s Lodge, and every single guest gave it a solid 5 out of 5.”

“We had such a lovely weekend at the Dukes Lodge, our mother-in-law had a great time celebrating her 70th birthday.
The house is perfect for being together as a family, but also having some time away from the kids with the games room and second lounge!
The attention to detail in the house is fabulous, everything had been thought of. The addition of the hamper was a lovely touch.
Jasper our cockapoo thoroughly enjoyed his stay and exploring the fenced off garden. We noticed when we got home, he still had the tag we borrowed, please find enclose (sorry!)

“Just had the most amazing long weekend at the Duke’s Lodge with my family and three dogs.
Age ranged from 21-81 and the facilities were perfect for all ages groups. The downstairs bedroom has step free access which was particularly useful for my grandparents.
The garden is perfect to relax in the sun and has secure grounds for dogs to roam. The grounds also extend further than just the enclosed garden if the dogs need a longer run.
The hot tub was also a staple feature – which we used every day.
The house had everything we needed and Bobbie & Simon also provided a welcome hamper which was a lovely touch.
I would highly recommend this house to anyone and hope to return next summer.”

“The house was lovely. Bathrooms were all beautifully done and nice and warm. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed. Especially as the weather wasn’t great!

It’s impossible not to relax and allow the beauty of the soothing countryside that surround this tranquil delight sweep you away.
The house itself instantly offers a homely vibe, it’s spacious yet cosy, each area and room offers something different, and special…and that’s before you’ve stepped outside.
A beautiful open plan dual aspect kitchen and dining room (boasting enough seats for a small army!) leads out to a wonderful BBQ area, perfect for alfresco dining!
A relaxation area, complete with hot tub and covered lounge area is just perfect for those balmy summer evenings, and the private seated patio have views over tranquil gardens and pretty countryside that’s home to an abundance of wildlife.
From mud room to games room or the East lounge to the fully equipped kitchen, Duke’s Lodge is just full of all the little details that make it a real home from home.”
